Google I/O has come to an end and if there is one thing that has everyone talking it Google Lens.

Google lens will allow users to use their smartphone camera with the Google search engine. What does this mean? It means that you can take a photograph of something and Google will recognise the object and search the web for it. That really is an exciting prospect.

There is much more to it that just this though.

Google Lens will also be able to translate languages as well. So if you take a picture of a restaurant Google Lens will be able to translate the language for you.  It can translate the menu and even open Google Maps for you.

Google CEO Sundar Pichai's also demonstrated Google Lens connecting to a Wifi network by taking a picture of the name and password.

Google Lens will also work with Google Assistant and sync with Google Calendars.

There isn't a release date for Google Lens just yet by Pichai has stated that when the time does come to unleash the technology it wont be a standalone app it will be available to use through Google Assistant and google Photos.
